Spanish Mustang | Born 2009

With her beautiful roan coat and sweet, gentle nature, Sparrow is one of the quieter personalities in our sanctuary herd. Born in 2009, this lovely Spanish Mustang has a calm, welcoming presence that makes her a particularly special member of the group.

Sparrow came to Great Escape from Caballos de Destino, a Spanish Mustang preservation ranch in South Dakota. When the ranch closed its doors, we welcomed several of its horses into our sanctuary, preserving not only their unique heritage but also the relationships they had formed with one another.

While introducing new horses into an established herd can sometimes be a lengthy and complicated process, Sparrow has always been quick to accept newcomers. Her easygoing nature allows her to form relationships without much fuss, making her a wonderful presence among her herd mates.

Today, Sparrow enjoys life alongside her fellow mustangs, contributing her own gentle personality to the complex social dynamics of the herd. She's a lovely reminder that every horse has a unique role to play, and sometimes the quietest members make a meaningful difference.
