Getting your horse to catch you
Getting Your Horse to Catch You: A Science-Based Approach to Safety, Curiosity, and Connection
In this live 1.5 hour educational session, West will break down the science behind why horses become difficult to catch and how subtle nervous system cues shape their behavior. Using real-world mustang examples, he will demonstrate how approach pressure, space, timing, and regulation influence a horse’s decision to stay or leave.
Participants will learn how to:
• Recognize early signs of caution and avoidance
• Adjust their approach to reduce flight responses
• Use space and timing to create clarity
• Build an environment where the horse chooses connection
This will be practical, applicable, and grounded in real science — not theory. We’ll also leave time for live Q&A.
