My name is Jordan Gibbs, I’m 16 years old and I ride with Burr Associates, and Mountain King Ranch. I started riding with my family in Pueblo, Colorado just for fun, but I caught the competition bug at an early age. I started competing in the pony hunters at the age of 8. When I was 13, with the support of my family, friends, and trainers I switched to virtual school and moved to the East Coast to train under Stacia Madden and the team at Beacon Hill, and Katie Prudent at Plain Bay Farm. This year, I started working with Leslie Burr Howard and Jad Dana -- and between my brother and I, we care for and manage our horses on our own. In 2022, I won the USHJA Youth Sportsmanship Award and the Hollowbrook Jr Sportsmanship Award at Old Salem Farm. I also had podium finishes at the 2022 equitation finals and at The North American Youth Championships in 2021. I make time to volunteer in my community by founding “Sock Out Cold Feet,” providing warm socks to families and individuals in shelters or without adequate clothing. I facilitate our family’s equitation grant program and I’m dedicated to achieving my goals in the hunters, jumpers, and equitation while balancing my college prep academics at Score Academy. I’m also signed with the D1 Equestrian Team at TCU, and I couldn’t be more excited for the future! I hope to represent my country in international competition at the highest level of our sport, coach and be an ambassador for the horse — who makes all of this possible.
